EQUANS Embedded Energy is seeking a SHE Coordinator to support the SHEQ Manager on site at Fellside CHP plant. The role focuses on safeguarding health, safety, environment and quality across maintenance activities and advising on procedural compliance.

The candidate will conduct site inspections, provide SHE guidance, and contribute to incident investigations while collaborating with the Environmental Engineer on COSHH and waste management tasks.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH managing safely with industrial experience.
• Experience within a legislative framework with targets.
• Team-oriented; willingness to help the team.
• Auditing experience.
• Understanding of risk assessment best practices.
• Methodical, accurate and detail-conscious.
• Able to deliver training and group presentations.
• MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Completed the required company induction into this role.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture on site and clarify personal SHE responsibilities.
• Provide accurate SHE advice and procedural guidance.
• Represent Equans at forums; complete actions and report outcomes.
• Conduct worksite inspections and close-out action points.
• Prepare content for SHE communications and training materials.
• Be fully conversant with Equans Safe Working Procedures.
• Develop incident investigation skills and report findings.
• Support Environmental Engineer with waste management and COSHH duties.
