CHP Plant Maintenance Project Engineer

Job summary

EQUANS UK & Ireland is seeking a Project Engineer to join the maintenance team at Fellside CHP plant. You will coordinate infrastructure engineering and maintenance activities, engage subcontractors, and support safe, compliant project delivery across offsite assets.

The role requires hands-on coordination, subcontractor oversight, and collaboration with the site O&M team. Experience in industrial environments and CMMS is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ L3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in a 24/7 industrial environment including rotating equipment, steam raising systems, piping and valves.
• Experience maintaining and managing relationships with external support contracts.
• Plant Health and Safety systems awareness and application.
• Appreciation of Permit to Work systems and documents.
• Appreciation of purchasing cycle using computerized planning systems.
• Ability to interpret and commission third-party technical reports.
• Confident with Microsoft Office for document production.
• Experience with CMMS and Management of Change controls.
• Experience supervising consultants/contractors to meet contractual objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering projects and sub-contractors as assigned.
• Engage appropriate sub-contractors to enable completion of activities.
• Supervise mechanical and civil works at Fellside CHP Plant.
• Oversee routine maintenance and project engineering tasks under guidance.
• Attend weekly E&M planning and daily priorities meetings.
• Maintain CMMS work orders and schedule activities.
• Liaise with the site O&M team on maintenance and projects.
• Review PCI reports and action identified repairs.
• Commercially engage with sub-contractors including cost control.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across activities.
