Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This role is fully onsite.

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Ensuring timely and consistent advice, support, coaching, and governance of SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards and legislation across the organization.
  2. Supporting the development and embedding of a robust and compliant SHE management system within the Submarines business, and supporting the SHE improvement program.
  3. Leading and delivering key risk reduction and improvement projects/activities.
  4. Maintaining professional and accountable interfaces with all stakeholders.
  5. Ensuring the delivery of the Safety, Health and Environment Operations Plan and Strategy across all Submarine sites as scheduled.
  6. Providing support and governance to investigations, ensuring comprehensive reports with root cause analysis.
Your skills and experiences:
  • Knowledge of SHE management systems, including continuous improvement and risk management.
  • A proven track record of fostering a positive SHE culture.
  • Experience in assurance and governance over investigation processes, stakeholder interactions, report writing, and investigative skills.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Experience in conducting investigations.
  • Experience working in a regulated or heavily regulated environment.
  • Previous experience using business reporting systems.

As a SHE Advisor with the Safety, Health and Environment Team, you will be involved in one of the UK’s most exciting engineering programs, providing professional SHE advice to ensure compliance and safe construction, testing, and delivery of Nuclear Submarines. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to eligibility.
