Job summary

Thrive is delighted to partner with a client in the Frome area to recruit a Sewing Machinist on a temporary to permanent basis. The role is based in Frome with 35 hours per week and start times around 08:00, with flexible hours to complete required hours.

You will operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture cushion covers, follow patterns and production instructions, and help the team meet daily targets while maintaining quality and a tidy, safe workstation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an industrial Sewing Machinist.
• Experience sewing cushion covers, upholstery or soft furnishings preferred.
• Confident operating industrial sewing machines.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture cushion covers.
• Sew a variety of fabrics accurately and to a high standard.
• Follow patterns, measurements and production instructions.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards.
• Meet daily production targets and deadlines.
• Keep the workstation clean, tidy and safe.
• Work as part of a team to meet production requirements.
