Job summary

NXT Recruitment Limited is seeking a Sewing Machinist for a temporary to permanent role in Wigton. The successful candidate will operate industrial sewing machines to produce mattress components and upholstery parts, following templates and quality standards.

Experience with industrial machines is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. The role offers steady daytime hours and a supportive production team environment in a rural setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g. overlock, flatbed, twin needle) to stitch mattress components.
• Sew fabric and other upholstery materials to size, following detailed instructions or templates.
• Ensure all products are sewn to quality standards and production targets.
• Perform regular machine checks and report any maintenance issues.
• Work with other team members and departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean working area.

Sewing Machinist

Job type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Wigton (Rural)

Pay rate: £12.75/Hr.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 6am - 2:30pm, Friday 6am-1pm (Shift may be subject to change).

We are currently looking for a sewing machinist to join our client. The ideal candidate will have prior experience using industrial sewing machines; however, this is not necessary. You'll be a key part of the production process, stitching mattress panels, borders, and covers to specification.
