A leading environmental agency is seeking a Specialist in Water Quality Regulation to join a nationwide team. The successful candidate will develop audit processes and training for Urban Pollution Management while working collaboratively across various teams. You will join a water quality focused regulatory team of specialists enabling strategic change within the water sector, particularly focusing on storm overflows.
Working proactively with Environment Agency teams and external organisations, the role will lead the development of audit processes for water quality investigations under the Storm Overflows Assessment Framework and Environment Act. You will also develop training courses on Urban Pollution Management (UPM), respond to technical queries, and coach staff on sewerage and water quality investigations.
We’re a dispersed team working with various teams across the country involved in water regulation and water quality planning.
Responding to incidents is central to our work. You’ll have the option to take on an incident role, making yourself available to respond or provide business continuity support during incidents. This may include additional payment and full training.
The team
This role is part of the Water Quality Regulatory Development team within Water Industry Regulation. The team is dispersed nationwide. The successful candidate must work independently while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Office location is flexible; occasional travel or overnight stays may be required.
