Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking a diligent Setting Out Engineer for Taunton, Somerset. The role involves accurate setting out of civil works using GPS, Total Station and other surveying equipment, and interpreting drawings to ensure levels and coordinates are correct.

You will liaise with site managers and subcontractors, maintain survey records, and ensure work is completed to required quality and safety standards. Full UK driving licence and CSCS are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering or construction.
• Competent using GPS and surveying equipment (Total Station).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate setting out of construction works using GPS, Total Station and other surveying equipment.
• Setting out foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs, structures and general civil engineering works.
• Interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Checking levels, dimensions and line and level throughout the project.
• Maintaining accurate site records and survey information.
• Liaising with site managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Ensuring all works are completed to the required quality and safety standards.
