Job summary

Orchard Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a five-week contract on a pile-setting project in Sunderland. The role involves setting out for pile caps and coordinating day-to-day engineering activities on site.

The project runs on a fixed schedule with QA documentation and ITPs to be produced. Applicants must provide their own setting-out equipment and prove competence with GPS and Total Station.

Qualifications

• Proven setting-out experience on construction sites.
• Competent with GPS and Total Station for precise setting-out.
• Ability to manage setting-out independently and on schedule.

• Setting out for pile caps on site.
• Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site.
• Producing and maintaining QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records.
• Ensuring works align with drawings, specs and programme.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors and survey teams.
• Monitoring health and safety compliance on site.

Orchard are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a 5 week contract setting out Piles on a project in Sunderland

Applicants must have your own setting out equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for pile caps
• Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site
• Producing and maintaining QA documentation, as-built records, and ITPs
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and survey teams
• Monitoring health & safety compliance on site

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer
• Competent with GPS and Total Station
• Ability to manage setting-out independently
• CSCS card (White Card)
• SMSTS and First Aid (preferred but not essential)

£330per shift (Negotiable)

5 weeks work starting Monday 14th September
