Job summary

The Children's Society is seeking a Sessional Shop Assistant to support our Nottingham shops (based in Arnold) on a zero-hour contract. You will assist shop managers, welcome customers, handle basic IT tasks, and help cover shifts to keep doors open.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are important, and experience in retail and good people skills are valued. We offer benefits including enhanced leave, a company pension match, a free counselling service, and opportunities to develop

Sessional Shop Assistant - Nottingham Shops
Fixed Term contract until August 2027 (Secondment Cover)
Zero Hour Contract - £12.71 Per Hour
Location: Various Shop Locations in Nottingham (based in Arnold)

About the role:

This role sits within our Retail Domain, which transforms donated goods into vital income to support young people across the UK. You'll play a key part in our Nottingham shops, supporting our shop managers to cover to keep doors open

Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Retail experience, and a "can do", positive approach
  • Excellent people skills & customer service
  • Good IT skills
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

It would also be an advantage if you have any of the following skills and competencies:

  • Experience of working with volunteers
