Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking Sessional ESOL Tutors for various daytime, weekend, and evening classes. Candidates are expected to have relevant teaching experience and qualifications, providing essential support in a supportive educational environment. Qualifications

• Experience of teaching all levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2 EFL or ESOL.
• Qualified in their subject (CELTA or equivalent), with further qualifications expected for those lacking Level 5.
• Tutors with a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training / CTLLS or above start at Pt 4.

Responsibilities

• Teach in classrooms at CALAT centres, covering various levels of EFL or ESOL.
• Prepare learners for progression and accreditation as required.

CALAT Sessional Lecturer Conditions: Band 1, Pts 3 to 8 -£30.69 to £37.34 (including holiday pay) per hour.

Applicants will need to have experience of teaching all levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2 EFL or ESOL. Applicants will be required to teach in classrooms at CALAT centres and IT Skills are essential. Experience of preparing learners for progression and accreditation as required.

As a condition of employment all applicants should be qualified in their subject (CELTA or equivalent) with a teaching or training qualification.Teachers without a teaching qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent) will be required to work towards the relevant qualifications.Tutors holding the equivalent to a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training / Certificate in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS), or above, start at Pt 4 - £32.02 (including holiday) per hour.
