Role Overview

Have you recently finished your refrigeration apprenticeship and are now seeking a new challenge? At JCI, you will be trained to provide in-service support for our equipment, including chilled water plants, refrigeration systems, and HVAC solutions. This role requires versatility, adaptability to new technologies, and a proactive mindset, as you'll work on a diverse range of equipment, including large-scale chillers up to 10,000Kw inside plant rooms of Navy and Commercial Marine Vessels.

What You Will Do

• Assist with commissioning and testing of refrigeration and HVAC equipment
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and complete repairs and retrofits
• Support factory acceptance trials at our Basildon facility when required
• Maintain accurate records of work and report on any issues
• Ensure a safe working environment and high customer satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and handling multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach
• Familiarity with Navy/Marine environment is advantageous but not essential
• Knowledge of PLC/microprocessor-based systems, HVAC systems, and air balancing is a plus
• Flexibility to travel around the UK and internationally as required
• Flexibility to work weekends when needed
• SC UK MOD Security Clearance (screening provided by JCI)

• Apprenticeship training in refrigeration or HVAC

• F-Gas (C&G 2079)
