Job summary

SEEPEX is seeking a field service and workshop-based engineer to service, install and commission SEEPEX products across the UK and Ireland. You will visit customer sites, document installation and service activities, and liaise with internal teams to ensure successful outcomes.

You will spend significant time in the Yeovil workshop performing repairs, servicing and preparation, with occasional travel and overnight stays to support customer sites as workload requires.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English, Maths and Science are essential.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings are required.
• Experience with pump installations, servicing or commissioning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Service, commission, and support SEEPEX products and equipment across the UK and Ireland.
• Accurately capture site visit data in detailed reports covering installation, commissioning and service.
• Travel to customer sites for inspections and installations; work with subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain understanding of SEEPEX products and propose upgrades or solutions.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed at all times.
• Prepare reports and documentation from site visits; communicate outcomes to customers and internal teams.
• Work primarily in the Yeovil workshop with repairs, servicing and preparation, plus travel when required.

Job description

To deliver excellent customer service through the servicing, installation, and commissioning of SEEPEX products and associated equipment across the UK and Ireland. The role is also responsible for promoting SEEPEX services to existing and prospective customers during site visits, while consistently representing the company in a professional and positive manner.,

• Service, commission, and support SEEPEX products and associated equipment in line with company standards.
• Accurately capture and document site visit data through detailed reports covering installation, commissioning, service, and training activities.
• Comply fully with all applicable health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Visit customer sites to inspect pump installations and monitor equipment performance.
• Assist with on-site installation of SEEPEX products, working alongside subcontractors where required.
• Maintain a strong understanding of SEEPEX products and recommend upgrades or alternative solutions to customers and internal colleagues when appropriate.
• Monitor spare parts usage and identify operational inefficiencies, providing clear information to support proposed improvements or alternative solutions.
• Develop an understanding of system processes across a range of market sectors.
• Repair or assess pumps and equipment returned to the Yeovil facility, providing reports as required.
• Liaise with internal departments to communicate outcomes of installation, commissioning, service, and training activities., The role is primarily workshop-based in Yeovil, with most weeks spent carrying out repairs, servicing, and preparation work at the facility.
• There will be periods where travel is required to support customer service jobs, installations, or commissioning activities across the UK and Ireland.
• During busy service or installation periods, travel may involve up to four overnight stays per week.

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, and Science subjects are essential.
• Experience in pipe fitting, mechanical installation, or water treatment maintenance would be advantageous.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to service, repair, install, and commission pumps and associated equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.
• Basic fault-finding and problem-solving skills related to mechanical systems.
• Understanding of system processes across different market sectors (or willingness to develop this knowledge).
• Awareness of spare parts usage and the ability to identify inefficiencies or improvement opportunities.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Ability to work safely on customer sites and within a workshop environment.
• Completion of required site documentation and reports accurately and on time.
• Professional and positive attitude when representing SEEPEX on customer sites.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Capable of providing clear feedback and reports following site visits.
• Flexible approach to work, including travel and overnight stays when required.
