Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Checkout Team Leader to drive front-end store operations and lead a proactive team across checkouts, customer service and related areas.

You will stay visible on the shop floor, coach colleagues, monitor compliance with daily processes, and use store data to improve the checkout experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a retail front-end environment.
• Experience coaching and developing a high-performing team.
• Strong understanding of customer service and front-end operations.

More about the role

As a Checkout Team Leader, you're the driving force behind the front end of our store operations. You'll bring a proactive approach, keeping things running smoothly across checkouts, customer service, kiosks, and car parks.

In this role, you'll be on hand to:

• Be visible on the shop floor: Stay out front with your team, using headsets to jump in quickly, support colleagues, and keep queues moving so customers can get on with their day.
• Lead a friendly, helpful team: Build an encouraging team culture where colleagues feel trusted, listened to, and recognised for a job well done.
• Keep standards high, safe, and legal: Make sure all daily processes, cash handling, and legal obligations are followed properly every shift.
• Use data to make good calls: Look at store reports and dashboards to spot what's working, fix problems quickly, and keep improving the checkout experience for everyone.
• Keep waste down: Help keep the department tidy and organised, making sure put-backs are handled promptly to minimise waste.
