Job description

We are looking for an experienced forward-thinking individual who is enthusiastic about developing the workshop to suit the services it supports and improving performance within transport and the workshop to ensure that all operational services can provide high quality, timely services to the residents of the district.

The depot is undergoing significant change and a new workshop on site will be operational in October 2026.

This individual will also be responsible for providing effective advice and support to the other service managers within Neighbourhoods and across the Council with regards to vehicle procurement, O Licence requirements, transport legislation and workshop.

This individual will be key to creating a dynamic flexible service and also responsible for the safe operation and day to day running of the councils depot.

The ability to write reports and policies to a high standard will be required in this role.

This person will be an experienced people manager and bring new ideas on how the service can be improved and updated and bring in modern practices and technological ideas.
