As Service Manager for the Multi Agency Child Protection Team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping child protection practice across Nottingham, ensuring children at risk of significant harm receive timely, effective and high-quality interventions that safeguard their wellbeing and improve outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of Lead Child Protection Practitioners, creating the conditions for excellent practice, robust decision-making and a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will oversee service performance, quality assurance and practice development, ensuring children and families receive effective support that is proportionate to risk and responsive to need.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across social care, education, health, policing and wider safeguarding partnerships, you will drive service improvement, influence strategic developments and champion innovative approaches that strengthen families, reduce risk and deliver lasting change for children and young people.
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational social work leader with significant expertise in child protection and safeguarding. You will have a strong track record of leading high-performing services, developing staff and embedding a culture of excellence, accountability and reflective practice. You will be passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and ensuring the voices of children and families remain at the heart of decision‑making.
You will provide professional leadership and oversight of complex child protection work, supporting Lead Child Protection Practitioners to maintain high standards of practice, promote effective risk management and deliver consistent, child‑centred interventions. Through your leadership, you will help ensure children experience safety, stability and permanence, while contributing to Nottingham's ambition to provide outstanding services for children and families.
