Job summary

Cygnet Hawkstone in Bradford, West Yorkshire, seeks a Service Manager to lead a specialist residential service for people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The role is full-time (40 hours) Mon–Fri with on-call duties and on-site work. DBS check is required.

You will direct operations, ensure CQC/MHCA compliance, and drive high-quality care, staff development and service improvements to support positive outcomes for service users.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading teams in health/social care.
• Experience with people with learning disabilities or challenging behaviours.
• Knowledge of CQC, MHCA and related regulations.
• Strong written and verbal reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, effective leadership for the service.
• Oversee overall running and strategic direction of the service.
• Ensure compliance with Cygnet policies and regulators.
• Deliver high-quality patient care and staff engagement.
• Meet clinical, budgetary, regulatory and service development targets.
• Lead risk assessment, governance, and investigations as needed.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and growth.

You will be working full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Please note this role does carry the responsibility of on-call duties as and when required in support of the Service.

Cygnet Hawkstone:

Hawkstone is a specialist residential service in Bradford, West Yorkshire, supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Provide strong & effective leadership
• Be responsible for the overall running & strategic direction of the service
• Ensure full compliance with Cygnet policies & procedures, CQC & other relevant regulators
• Deliver a high-quality service, in respect of both patient care & employee engagement
• Ensure all clinical, budgetary, regulatory & service development targets are met
• Implement risk assessment, risk management & embed clinical governance
• Lead on appropriate investigations as required
• Review & develop potential opportunities for improved quality & commercial growth.

You will have…

• A proven track record of managing Learning disabilities, Autism or challenging behaviours
• Outstanding staff management and organisation skills
• Familiarity with and the ability to apply CQC, the Mental Health Capacity Act and other professional regulations
• Good presentation and report writing skills
• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
• Applicants without a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care should be willing to work towards one
