Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Service Maintenance Technician - Security to maintain CCTV systems and security equipment across Yarmouth/Beccles stores. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep sites safe and operational.

This hands-on role requires practical problem-solving, safety focus, and collaboration with store teams and contractors. Training and career progression are offered within one of the UK’s best known retailers.

Qualifications

• CCTV experience (analogue/IP) essential.
• City & Guilds in security or equivalent.
• Full driving license.
• Experience installing, configuring CCTV to industry standards.
• Retail environment experience desirable.

Responsibilities

As a Service Maintenance Technician - Security at Tesco across Yarmouth and Beccles areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

• Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.

• Full Driving license
• Health & Safety awareness
• Proven Security‑related technical skills - City & Guilds, apprenticeship
• CCTV (analogue & IP) experience (essential)
• CCTV qualification/certification (desirable)
• Ability to install, configure and maintain CCTV equipment to the relevant industry standards
• Experience working with the following systems: Hikvision, Pelco, Hanwha Techwin
• Experience of working in a retail environment (desirable)
• Administrative skills to include IT & Microsoft Office suite
• Customer/stakeholder escalation management
• Resource scheduling
• IOSH qualification (desirable)
• IPAF (desirable)
• Asbestos Awareness
