Service Engineer (Progression to Service Manager)

£35,000-£40,000 + Company Bonus + On call allowance (phone only) + Progression + Training + Company Benefits

Location: York

Are you a Service Engineer looking to move off the tools into a supervisory role? In this position, you will support engineers and be the first line of support for customers within a well-established UK subsidiary of a global company, offering opportunities to increase earnings through bonuses and occasional on-call duties.

This company, established in 1978, provides packaging and labelling solutions primarily for the F&B and Ecommerce sectors. Due to ongoing growth, they are expanding their team.

Your daily responsibilities will include supporting the service team, liaising with the manufacturing team in Germany, coordinating installations and servicing, and supporting engineers across a regional UK patch.

This role is ideal for a Service Engineer seeking a varied, office-based position with regional client support, training on advanced software, and ongoing development.

The Role:

• Review drawings and specifications for project components
• Coordinate with the manufacturing team in Germany and customers to ensure high customer service standards
• Arrange installations and subsequent servicing of products
• Support scheduling and provide job sheets for service engineers
• Maintain regular customer communication via phone
• On-call duties: 1 in 10 (weekdays 5pm-8pm), weekends (9am-5:30pm), phone only
