Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in the UK is seeking a Service Engineer for the North East region to install and commission access control, CCTV, wireless fire alarms, and network cabling. You will represent the company on-site, ensuring quality workmanship and strong customer relationships.

The role requires handling van stock, coordinating with Technical Support, and adhering to health and safety standards while delivering reliable service to customers across the North East.

Qualifications

• Access Control, CCTV, or fire and security knowledge is mandatory.
• Green CSCS OR ECS card and valid driver's licence.
• Good understanding of electrical wiring and equipment, networking, and routing is a plus.
• IPAF, PASMA and 3-day first aid is nice to have.
• Experience of engaging with customers in a pressured environment is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Attendance, completion, and commissioning of installation visits, including functional testing and technical sign-off with Technical Support.
• Installation of access control systems, CCTV, wireless fire alarms, and structured network cabling.
• Management of van stock, including monitoring inventory levels and ordering replacement stock.
• Maintain exemplary on-site standards to build rapport and positive working relationships with customers.
• Adherence to Health & Safety and Environmental regulations during installation and site activities.

What you would do as our Service Engineer - North East

Reporting to the CCTV & Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for the installation of the whole portfolio of our products. You will be representing the company in front of the customers and bring your expertise in the field of CCTV and access control.

You would also be responsible for:

• Attendance, completion, and commissioning of installation visits, including functional testing and technical sign ‑ off in collaboration with Technical Support.
• Installation of access control systems, wireless fire alarms, wired and wireless CCTV, and structured network cabling.
• Management of own van stock, including monitoring inventory levels and ordering replacement stock through the Stores Team.
• Maintenance of exemplary standards on site to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with customers.
• Full adherence to Health & Safety and Environmental regulations at all times during installation and site activities.

The Skills And Experience You Need

We are looking for someone who has:

• Access Control, CCTV, or fire and security knowledge is mandatory. Construction industry knowledge is considered a plus.
• Green CSCS OR ECS card and valid driver's licence.
• A good understanding of electrical wiring and equipment, networking, and routing is considered a plus.
