Job summary

Water Technologies is seeking a Service Engineer to join our team on a field-based role covering the UK. This permanent, full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week, with a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual leave, bank holidays, a birthday off, a company vehicle and fuel card, and various incentive schemes.

You will conduct on-site maintenance, provide technical and commercial client support, and work to enhance system reliability.

  • Strong communication with clients and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • On-site maintenance: preventative and corrective maintenance, commissioning, upgrades.
  • Provide after-sales technical and commercial support to clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and improve system reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding, hands-on problem solving.
  • Be flexible with on-call hours and occasional weekends/holidays.

We are looking for a dedicated and driven Service Engineer to join our team. This role offers structured progression and a chance to make a real impact on both the business and the environment.

What will you be doing?

As a Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • On-Site Maintenance: Conducting both preventative and corrective maintenance, including commissioning, upgrades, and refurbishments
  • Technical Support: Offering after-sales technical and commercial support to clients, and gathering feedback to assist in future product development
  • Customer Focus: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, offering recommendations to enhance system reliability and productivity
  • Troubleshooting and Fault Finding: You’ll be hands-on, solving challenges to keep systems running smoothly
  • On-Call Flexibility: As part of this role, a flexible approach to customers’ needs and working hours is required and may include the need for you to work some weekends and during some public holidays. As you grow in the role, you’ll join our ‘On-Call Rota’ to ensure our clients receive support when they need it most

What do we need from you?
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Service Engineer in the municipal market. Knowledge of sewage and drinking water treatment sites.
  • Qualifications: NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or similar or even working towards would be ideal but not essential.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Strong communication skills and experience engaging with clients, offering solutions and handling challenging conversations.
  • Time Management: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Professionalism: A punctual, presentable individual who values customer satisfaction and strives to provide best-in-class service.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
