People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer – Machine Tool to join our well-established client based in Bristol on a full-time, permanent basis.

Hours

• Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00

Salary

• £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Day-to-Day Duties

• Install and commission new and used machine tools at customer sites
• Decommission machinery purchased for stock
• Carry out first‑line fault‑finding and breakdown repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Work on both CNC and conventional machine tools (new and used)
• Support in-house machinery preparation for showroom display and customer demonstrations
• Assist with electrical testing, mechanical alignment, and final pre‑delivery checks

Essential Skills

• Proven mechanical engineering experience (machine tools, CNC, or plant machinery)
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains
• Basic electrical fault‑finding ability (CNC experience an advantage)
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible, positive attitude to working both on‑site and in‑house
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Must live within a one‑hour commute of Bristol

Desirable Experience

• Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of precision alignment, levelling, and calibration procedures
• Understanding of machine tool safety systems, interlocks, and guarding

• Full training will be provided, along with ongoing professional development and support
