Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Service Engineer (In-House) for a workshop-based role in Nuneaton. You will work on large and complex machine rebuilds, including CNC and conventional tools, performing mechanical rebuilds, precision fitting, alignment and refurbishment to high engineering standards.

There will be occasional nationwide travel for installation, commissioning and support. The role offers a Monday–Thursday schedule with Fridays shortened, and a salary of

Responsibilities

• Strip down, repair and rebuild CNC and conventional machine tools, including machining centres and vertical turning lathes.
• Fit and align beds, columns, tables, headstocks, ballscrews, linear rails, slideways and spindle assemblies.
• Rebuild mechanical systems including gearboxes, drives, bearings and hydraulic components, with precision alignment and geometry checks.
• Assist with installations, commissioning, retrofits and customer support, including occasional UK travel.

Service Engineer (In-House)

Nuneaton - Workshop Based with Occasional UK Travel

£45,000 - £55,000 + Training + Days + No Weekends or Nights

Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Are you a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Tool Fitter or Service Engineer with experience working on industrial machinery, looking for a hands-on workshop role working on large and complex machine rebuilds?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering business involved in the repair, refurbishment and re-engineering of industrial machine tools. You'll be working on a variety of CNC and conventional machines, carrying out mechanical rebuilds, precision fitting, alignment and refurbishment to a high engineering standard.

The role is predominantly workshop based, giving you the opportunity to work on complete machine rebuild projects from initial strip-down through to final testing and delivery. There will also be occasional nationwide travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, servicing and technical support.

The Role:

• Strip down, repair and rebuild CNC and conventional machine tools, including machining centres and vertical turning lathes.
• Fit and align beds, columns, tables, headstocks, ballscrews, linear rails, slideways and spindle assemblies.
• Rebuild mechanical systems including gearboxes, drives, bearings and hydraulic components, alongside precision alignment and geometry checks.
• Assist with installations, commissioning, retrofits and customer support, including occasional UK travel.

The Person:

• Experienced Machine Tool Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or Service Engineer with strong mechanical fitting experience.
• Background in repairing, rebuilding or maintaining industrial machinery, with knowledge of bearings, spindles, ballscrews, motors and gears.
• Confident reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment.
• Self-motivated and practical, with strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work independently.
