Job summary

NRGTech Talent Solutions Ltd is seeking a Service Engineer to support customers in the South of England and South Wales, with a base salary of £43,000–£46,500 plus overtime and an OTE around £50K+. The role involves home-based work in the South, deputising across the Dealer Network and internal teams.

The successful candidate will have a mechanical and/or electrical engineering background, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics and drawings, with travel across the UK

Qualifications

• Practical, technically minded engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge is essential.
• Strong IT skills and ability to interpret diagnostic data.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Dealer Network and customers.
• Develop, coordinate and deliver technical training programmes for Dealer Network and internal teams.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalate to HQ Support when necessary with detailed descriptions.
• Communicate issues and solutions across the UK Technical Team and produce technical bulletins.
• Support new projects from pre-installation through commissioning, ensuring installation to standards.
• Provide ongoing technical support to Dealers and customers post-installation.
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and liaise on installation plans.
• Deliver training to customers to maximise machinery functionality and benefits.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting in line with company requirements.
• Assess risks and ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
• Travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required.

The Company

Our client is a world leader in their fields of manufacturing for the process industries, with a major UK and global presence spanning numerous operational plants. As part of the continued growth of the business they are presently seeking a Service Engineer to support customers in the South of England and South Wales.

The Role

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Provide technical support to their Dealer Network and customers.
• Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of technical training programmes for both the Dealer Network and internal teams
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating to HQ Support where necessary along with accurate and detailed descriptions of the issue
• Communicate technical issues and solutions across the UK Technical Team and produce relevant technical bulletins and guidance
• Support new projects from pre-installation through to commissioning, ensuring equipment is installed to company standards.
• Provide ongoing technical support to Dealers and customers following installation.
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and liaise with relevant teams on installation plans.
• Deliver training to customers, enabling them to fully understand the system and maximise the machinery functionality, value and benefits.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting in line with company requirements.
• Assess risks and ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) standards.

Your Profile / Qualifications

We are looking for a practical, technically minded engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.

You Will Ideally Have

• A mechanical and/or electrical engineering background with relevant technical qualifications.
• Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to work with specialist software systems.
• The ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics and interpret diagnostic data.
• Good organisational and reporting skills, with the ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with Dealers, customers and colleagues.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A good understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
• Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required.
• Experience within agricultural or dairy engineering and an understanding of dairy farming would be advantageous but is not essential.
