Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service injection moulding machinery at customer sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will travel independently and support customers remotely, with extensive training provided both in-house and in Germany.

The role offers a permanent, full-time days position with UK/Ireland coverage and a competitive package including a base salary and performance-related enhancements.

Qualifications

• Fully apprentice trained engineer.
• Electrically biased engineering background.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of plastic processing and injection moulding.
• Experience with automation and/or turnkey systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willing and able to travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair and maintain injection moulding machinery at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance and machine modifications.
• Provide technical support to customers via telephone and other telecommunications.
• Support internal and external staff with technical queries and solutions.
• Provide technical support for turnkey projects and customer solutions.
• Complete accurate service reports in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed to customer and company standards.
• Maintain full compliance with health and safety requirements at customer sites.

Field Service Engineer

Location: UK / Ireland - Field Based

Salary: £43,657.60 + £1,000 after successful completion of probation

Our client is a leading provider of injection moulding machines, robotic systems and digital solutions for plastic parts production, including complete turnkey systems.

They provide comprehensive customer support, including remote diagnosis, training and technical advice, supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their equipment.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to provide professional and efficient after-sales technical support to customers across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The role will involve working independently at customer sites, carrying out installation, commissioning, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on injection moulding machinery. The position will also involve supporting customers remotely and working closely with internal and external teams.

Extensive initial training will be provided in Germany for approximately three months.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair, calibrate and maintain injection moulding machinery at customer sites.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and machine modifications.
• Provide technical support to customers via telephone and other telecommunications.
• Support internal and external staff with technical queries and solutions.
• Provide technical support for turnkey projects and customer solutions.
• Complete accurate service reports in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed to customer and company standards.
• Maintain full compliance with health and safety requirements at customer sites.
• Remain contactable during assigned working hours in accordance with company guidelines.
• Attend ongoing training both in-house and externally, including overseas training.

About You

What's on Offer

• £43,657.60 basic salary on joining.
• Additional £1,000 payment following satisfactory completion of a full calendar year probation.
• £48,000-£54,000 OTE including overtime.
