A hugely successful Machine Tool service provider are recruiting for an experienced service engineer to join their expanding team.
Recognized as one of the largest and most established suppliers of machine tool solutions in the UK, they supply, install, commission and repair various types of CNC and Automation equipment. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, along with technical support staff who are office based. They have a head office here in the UK for equipment storage, refurbishment and distribution, coupled with solid partnerships with customers across all forms of manufacturing.
Benefits include an excellent base salary of up to £55K depending on experience, a commercial vehicle to avoid BIK tax, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, private pension, healthcare cashplan, and death in service insurance.
Engineers tend to average around 45hrs per week including travel Monday to Friday, and this role does require engineers to work away from home during the week
There’s also a weekend callout rota that engineers can choose to pick up and week, getting paid a standby payment plus overtime door to door if they respond.
Responsibilities for the role include -
There are 16 trained technicians across the UK, along with technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support.
Product training provided in the first 6 – 12 months too, to develop skills on machinery or control panels that you’ve not had previous exposure to.
To be successful in this role of service engineer, we’re looking for the following skills/experience
- Previous experience as a machine tool service engineer, working on CNC, metalworking, woodworking or automated machinery
- Strong capabilities to fault find either electrically or mechanically
- Be able to install, uplift and relocate machinery, as well as level off and carry out geometry checks
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight when required
- Clean driving license
