Job summary

MARCH is seeking a mechanically minded Service Engineer to join our growing UK team. You will service pumps, rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical plant, carrying out fault-finding, maintenance and commissioning across the UK.

Experience in compressed air is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided. You’ll manage your own workload, build strong customer relationships and develop your skills within a fast-growing engineering services company.

Qualifications

  • Experience on pumps, rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes, compressors or similar mechanical equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Background in maintenance engineering, field service engineering or a similar technical role.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and proactive approach to equipment reliability.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in compressed air is beneficial but not essential (training provided).
  • Electrical fault-finding experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in manufacturing, utilities, water treatment, industrial processing or engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and reliability techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on compressed air systems and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using a systematic fault-finding approach.
  • Investigate equipment failures and identify root causes to minimise downtime.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance activities at customer sites.
  • Inspect pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, valves and other rotating equipment.
  • Complete equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning works.
  • Accurately complete service reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to customers.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.

Job description

We are seeking a mechanically minded Service Engineer to join our growing team. This role would suit someone with experience working on pumps, rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes or other mechanical plant machinery who enjoys fault-finding, diagnosing issues and carrying out maintenance activities.

While previous compressed air experience would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are keen to speak with Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical Fitters, Pump Engineers or Service Engineers looking to broaden their skills and build a career within the compressed air industry.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll manage your own workload while delivering exceptional service to customers across the UK.
