Job summary

Adler & Allan is seeking a Service Engineer/Technician to join the team at Brize Norton. This permanent, full-time role involves hands-on field work across the UK & Ireland, including vapour recovery, tank testing, dewatering, forecourt maintenance and compliance auditing.

You will identify root causes, provide long-term solutions, and work both independently and with other technicians in a varied, practical role that requires problem solving in the field.

Qualifications

  • Clean UK driving licence (categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes).
  • Experience working on and around Petrol Forecourts is advantageous.
  • Right to Work in the UK is required to be eligible for the role.
  • Knowledge of RAMS documentation is advantageous.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training to increase capability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate independently or as part of a team to deliver service to customers, including VR testing and tank dewatering. Onsite training will be provided.
  • Respond to call-outs for critical issues and provide effective, long-term solutions.
  • Attend site briefings as a company representative and, when required, act as team leader.
  • Complete all works on time and submit paperwork to supervision.
  • Liaise with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and future services.

Service Technician

We’re looking for a Service Engineer to join our team, providing essential services to major oil companies and independent customers across the UK & Ireland.

This is a varied, hands on role where you’ll work both independently and alongside other experienced Technicians. You’ll support a range of specialist services, including vapour recovery, tank and line testing, fuel tank dewatering, forecourt maintenance and compliance auditing.

A key part of the role will be identifying the root cause of issues and providing customers with effective, long term solutions. This is a practical position involving a high degree of manual work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, working in the field and taking on a variety of challenges.

More about the role:
  • Operating independently, or as part of a team to perform and deliver service to all customers of the Company. This will include for example, tank and line testing, VR testing and tank dewatering. This is not an exhaustive list. Onsite training will be provided.
  • Respond and react to call outs for critical issues.
  • To satisfy the duties of a site supervisor/lead operative when the occasion is presented. This will include attending site briefings as a company representative and on occasion, act as team leader.
  • Carry out near miss & potential incident reporting. In-house training will be provided.
  • Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure all equipment, tools, PPE and other work items are in good order and repair and available for use at all times. The postholder is expected to inform supervision as soon as any damage is identified.
  • Completion of all works in a timely manner; this includes all paperwork and submission to divisional supervision.
  • Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
  • Any other duties for which the Service Engineer is qualified for and capable of undertaking.
Qualifications
About you:
  • Must possess a clean UK driving licence, categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5tonne.
  • Working on and around Petrol Forecourts.
  • Right to Work in UK
  • Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation. (advantageous)
  • Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
