As the Service Design and Transition Lead at Currys, you will oversee the design, transition, and operational readiness of IT services. Your role involves governing the project lifecycle to ensure a successful handover from project delivery into Operations.

Role overview:

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a Service Design and Transition Plan aligned with strategic objectives and Project Delivery Plans, ensuring service readiness and effective transition outcomes.
  • Crafting and confirming support models that manage a multi-partner and platform technology ecosystem.
  • Ensuring solutions meet observability standards for proactive management of service outages and performance issues.
  • Managing relationships with internal, client, and senior stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment with business needs.
  • Overseeing the integration of Non-Functional Requirements, managing transition of Run Costs, and ensuring operational sustainability.
  • Providing operational teams with training, runbooks, and producing high-quality service design, transition documents, and a Supplier Handbook.
  • Driving continuous process improvements, representing service readiness in the Service Assurance Board, and fostering a collaborative culture.

Your main duties include developing and implementing plans, managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing operational and financial aspects, providing training and documentation, and driving process enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in IT Service Management and operational effectiveness.
  • Experience in service design and transition within Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
  • Proficiency in cloud services, DevOps practices, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Excel, and Jira.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation.
  • A proactive approach to customer service and operational excellence.
