Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Service Delivery Professional to join a specialist security team onsite in London or Ipswich, supporting critical national infrastructure. The role requires DV clearance and offers a comprehensive reward package with structured technical progression and extensive training.

  • Manage operational risks, safety incidents, compliance breaches and technical errors with governance and QA.
  • Maintain accountability for planning, execution, documentation and delivery of activities to standards.
  • Champion safety by enforcing HSEQ policies and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with Resource Management and Project Delivery to optimise workforce utilization and meet targets.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

This role requires DV Clearance and will be onsite 5 days a week in London or Ipswich

What you’ll be doing

Technically oversee Service Delivery Engineers, ensuring compliance with operational standards, electrical safety regulations, and customer service level agreements (SLAs).

Develop, maintain, and enhance the technical competency framework of the engineering team to support enterprise-scale power generation, distribution, HVAC, and critical infrastructure projects.

Deliver structured technical mentoring, competency assessments, and on‑job training to engineers and apprentices, promoting continuous professional development and knowledge transfer.

Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of departmental policies, procedures, and engineering best practices in line with company and industry standards.

Ensure operational risks, safety incidents, compliance breaches, and technical errors are proactively managed, investigated, and reduced through robust governance and quality assurance processes.

Maintain accountability for the accurate planning, execution, documentation, and delivery of engineering activities, ensuring all work is completed to the required technical, commercial, and regulatory standards.

Champion a strong safety culture by implementing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies, conducting risk assessments, reviewing Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), and driving corrective and preventive action plans.

Collaborate with Resource Management and Project Delivery teams to optimise workforce utilisation, ensuring engineering resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered within agreed timescales, budgets, and performance targets.

Essential Skills / Experience

Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Recognised electrical or power engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Current 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
  • Demonstrable experience in temporary power, power generation, electrical distribution systems and critical power infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety legislation, including Electricity at Work Regulations and safe isolation procedures.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a service delivery or operational environment.
