About Us

The Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo) is responsible for managing and evolving the Retail Energy Code (REC), which governs the interactions of parties involved in the Great Britain retail energy market. Our mission is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the market, promoting innovation, competition, and delivering positive outcomes for consumers. We manage a range of critical services, all aimed at driving operational efficiencies and delivering value to the industry and consumers alike.

RECCo supports a broad set of stakeholders, including energy suppliers, network operators, and metering service providers, facilitating the effective delivery of their obligations under the REC. This makes RECCo a vital player in shaping the future of the energy market.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Centralised Registration Service (CRS), working with the Data Communications Company (DCC) and its service delivery partners to ensure operational performance meets expectations. You will also support the transformation of central switching services, adherence to the REC Code obligations and ensure that any REC change is delivered effectively, to the required quality standards, and within agreed budgets and timescales. You will act as a subject matter expert on all aspects of the DCC-related service provision, requirements, and deliverables. In addition, you will provide expert input across RECCo functions to support the delivery of wider business projects as required. The role requires a proactive and solution-focused approach, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service and contributing to RECCo’s strategic goals.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee RECCO’S operational delivery and continuous improvement activities related to the delivery of an effective and consumer focused CRS including service review and performance enhancements

• Work with the DCC to drive step change improvements to deliver enhancements to the end consumer user experience

• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with DCC, Retail Energy Code (REC) Parties and strategic stakeholders to deliver unbeatable central switching services

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the REC eco-system, its products and services and the end-to-end impacts of these on industry stakeholders and consumers and deploy this knowledge into CRS related service improvements

• Maintain accurate records and document Service provider actions and discussions.

• Work with the Service Provider to ensure the correct development and implementation of relevant service-related policies and procedures are carried out

• Act as Technical SME for the DCC managed services as necessary to support wider RECCo projects and initiatives.

• Drive CRS delivery and enhancements through:

o Proactively identifying tasks and deliverables that will improve central switching services in the short, medium and long term

o Effective internal and external collaboration with relevant stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and fundamental enhancements to the central switching services

o Aligning DCC related improvement activity with related internal initiatives

o Development and implementation of the appropriate forums and processes to ensure the most effective methods of improving all aspects of the CRS

o Identify and engage appropriately with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the DCC is identifying and preparing for future challenges and initiatives that will impact REC market participants

About you:

• Strong delivery, quality and service focus

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to understand and articulate complex issues

• The ability to use initiative, identify improvements for systems and processes, feedback and adjust as needed

• Experience in business operations and change management functions

• Excellent relationships skills stakeholders and appreciation of their interests

• Adept at keeping up to date with industry trends and best practice

• Proactive approach to problem solving and issue resolution

• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills, ability to convey updates and challenges to relevant levels of business

Ideally you will have:

• Extensive experience of working in the energy or regulated industry
