Job summary

Tech Talent ID is seeking a Service Delivery Manager to lead multi-skilled IT teams and deliver complex change in a large environment. You will oversee end-to-end delivery from inception to completion, including finance, budgets and procurement, with a hybrid working model that combines remote work with regular on-site presence in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) plus a recognised certification (Prince2 Practitioner, APMP PMQ, or SAFe Certified Scrum Master).
• Proven track record of managing and delivering value within diverse IT environments and working with third parties.
• Strong managerial skills to inspire, engage, and line-manage/matrix-manage staff and vendors.
• Exceptional ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to both specialist and non-technical audiences.

Job description

Service Delivery Manager is required to lead diverse, multi-skilled teams and successfully deliver complex IT-based change in a large, complex environment. This role manages initiatives from inception to completion, handling finance, budgets, and procurement. Ideally you can demonstrate a hybrid background across both Agile and Waterfall delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery & Governance: End-to-end management of complex IT projects/streams in line with strict governance, quality, and risk standards.
• Financial & Procurement Management: Oversee budgets, resource utilisation, and IT procurement activities
• Leadership: Matrix-manage, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and conflict resolution.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across a wide stakeholder community and manage external partner/vendor delivery.

• Methodology Alignment:

  • For Waterfall: Lead project planning, dependencies, and benefits realisation.
  • For Agile: Act as a servant leader/coach (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) to remove impediments and optimise flow.

Essential Requirements:

• Education & Certifications: Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) plus a recognised certification ( Prince2 Practitioner, APMP PMQ, or SAFe Certified Scrum Master ).
• Experience: Proven track record of managing and delivering value within diverse IT environments and working with third parties.
• Leadership: Strong managerial skills to inspire, engage, and line-manage/matrix-manage staff and vendors.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to both specialist and non-technical audiences.

Desirable:

• ITIL Foundation qualification.
• Direct line management of other Project Managers.

Please note, whilst it's predominantly remote, this requires regular time onsite, whilst not a strict weekly agreement it may be at relatively short notice, therefore it will require you to be UK based and preferably within an acceptable distance to the office.
