Job summary

Euro Commercials Fuso Canter Exeter is seeking a Service Collection & Delivery Driver to join our Mercedes-Benz service network. You will coordinate vehicle collections, arrange deliveries and liaise with the workshop to meet customer requirements, while upholding safety and road rules.

The role involves driving responsibly, presenting vehicles for MOT where required, and supporting the service team with timely, courteous transportation of customer vehicles throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles and service delivery
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of road safety rules and vehicle handling is preferred
• Experience in vehicle collection/delivery is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate the collection and delivery of customer vehicles
• Liaise with customers to update on collection/delivery status
• Ensure customer vehicle requirements are understood and communicated to the workshop
• Provide timely and courteous collection and delivery service for vehicles as required by the workshop
• Present vehicles for MOT inspection when needed
• Assist technicians with vehicle road testing after repairs
• Support in vehicle movement within the yard and offsite as required
• Adhere to road rules at all times and drive safely

Objectives

Co-ordinate the work of the service department on a daily basis; ensuring that work is effectively programmed and to ensure customer and departmental needs are met.

Reporting

The service C&D driver will report to the General Manager

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure that the organization of the collection and delivery of customer vehicles is efficiently maintained
• Liaise with and update customers regarding the collection and delivery of their vehicles
• To liaise with service reception team to ensure that customer vehicle requirements are met and communicated effectively
• To provide a timely and courteous collection and delivery service for customer vehicles as required by the workshop
• To present customer vehicles for MOT inspection
• Support the technicians by providing vehicle road testing following repair
• Assist workshop with any vehicle movement within the yard.
• To undertake any driving duties as requested both on and offsite ensuring that the "rules" of the road are adhered to at all times
• To carry out weekly checks on company courtesy vehicles
• Organise and arrange on site vehicles to ensure safe parking and maximize usage of space
• Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of vehicles when presented to customers
• To ensure that all customer complaints are referred to the relevant staff member
• Assist management by being the Health and Safety representative for the workshop; to include monthly reporting of any safety issues.

Key Performance Measures

• To efficiently and effectively carry out all driving duties as and when required by the workshop
• To organize and arrange all collection and delivery movements in an effective and timely manner
• To provide a prompt service when presenting vehicles for MOT inspection

Key Requirements

• HGV Class 1 licence
• Experience of HGV driving
• Customer service experience is preferred
• Can work on own initiative
• Motor vehicle repair experience advantageous
