Job summary

Flagship, based in Norwich, is recruiting a Service Charge Officer to manage budgets, cost reconciliation and year-end accounts with accuracy and compliance. You will advise development and operational teams on service charge matters and support continuous improvement while ensuring fair, transparent charges for residents.

You will work closely with finance and operations, using Excel and housing management systems, and you’ll hold at least an AAT-part qualification.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical ability with excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient in Excel and general IT.
• Excellent communication and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Experience working collaboratively in teams and projects.
• Knowledge of service charge regulations and processes.
• Experience using housing management and accounting systems.
• AAT part-qualified (or equivalent) as a minimum requirement, with full AAT qualification (or equivalent) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing service charge enquiries from internal and external customers.
• Reviewing service charge costs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Working closely with finance colleagues to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Preparing annual service charge budgets.
• Reconciling actual expenditure against budgets for schemes with variable service charges.
• Producing year-end statements of account in line with leases, agreements and current legislation.
• Providing advice and guidance to development and operational teams on service charge matters.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping ensure best practice is maintained.

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your housing, finance and service charge expertise within a supportive team?

As a Service Charge Officer, you'll play a vital role in delivering a professional, compliant and customer-focused service charge process. You'll help ensure service charges are fair, transparent and provide value for money, while supporting customers and colleagues with expert advice and guidance.

Working closely with finance and operational teams, you'll take ownership of service charge budgets, cost reconciliation and year-end accounts, helping to maintain accuracy, compliance and excellent customer service throughout the process.

Location: Norwich

Hours: Full Time - 37 hpw - Monday to Friday

Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
