I’m delighted to announce that Gravitas Group has partnered with a well-established Housing Association outside of Bedford. The client is looking to hire a Rent & Service Charge Accountant to work with the Service Charge Manager and support a finance team of over 30 members.

Reporting to the Service Charge Manager and Group Financial Controller, the Rent and Service Charge Accountant will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

1. Leading the setting of rents for social housing tenants.
2. Managing and completing the estimated service charge process, from calculation to communication with residents.
3. Handling the actual service charge procedures.
4. Being the point of contact for tenants, auditors, and internal teams regarding costing and audits.
5. Promoting tenant engagement concerning service delivery and standards funded by service charges.
6. Applying innovative thinking to service challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience:

1. Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in rents and service charges.
2. Experience within the housing or property sectors.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract key financial insights.
4. Knowledge of legislation and accounting principles relevant to Housing Associations is desirable but not essential.
5. Experience with Open Accounts and Aeron QL is a plus; training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience in rents and service charges within a medium to large Housing Association.
