Service and Diagnostic Technician, Portsmouth

Based in the South and South-West of England, our client is an AM Top 50 automotive retailer covering 20 brands across 54 franchises. We differentiate ourselves from our competitors by delivering an exceptional level of service to both our customers and manufacturing partners. We are currently looking for a Service and Diagnostic Technician to join our established team in Portsmouth.

As a Service and Diagnostic Technician, you will carry out a variety of workshop tasks efficiently and safely. Your goal is to meet customer requirements and maximize workshop utilization and productivity.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out vehicle services and repairs according to brand technical standards.
• Working in line with brand and dealership processes.
• Liaising directly with customers when appropriate.
• Supporting less experienced colleagues.
• Attending regular training to update your technical skills.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ accreditation.
• Previous experience in a franchise dealership.
• Strong fault diagnosis skills and MOT Tester qualification.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Good planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (with 30-minute lunch).
• Saturday, 08:30 – 13:00 (rotational).
