Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Service Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role in their finance operations.

Position: Service Accountant
Rate: £34 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (7 Months) with Possible Extension
Purpose:

• To provide professional financial advice and support to a service Division or Directorate based on a sound understanding of the business and the regulatory/accounting regime.

Job Responsibilities:

• To co-ordinate both the revenue and capital budget preparation, budget monitoring and closure of accounts work for the relevant service area.
• To forge an excellent working relationship with the service directorate, whilst maintaining professional integrity and not compromising on financial best practice.
• The post holder will produce, monitor and close the budgets relating to a specific Division or Directorate of the Council as follows: (the budget dimensions are the revenue budgets for the service.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Service Accountant role or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial management and financial processes within Local Authorities and the financial & legislative framework.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
