As an SEO Specialist in our RS SEO team, you will continue to help drive commercial performance and brand awareness through visibility on SERP (Search Engine Results Page) within EMEA markets.

As an SEO Specialist in our RS SEO team, you will continue to help drive commercial performance and brand awareness through visibility on SERP (Search Engine Results Page) within EMEA markets.

Over the course of the last 18 months, RS has brought SEO activities in-house with the aim of embedding SEO across the organisation, delivering value and positioning the function in such a way to create a strategic advantage over our competitors.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, this team will set clear SEO goals, optimisation directions, and collaboratively drive successful outcomes with stakeholders.

Our increased SEO maturity will set a new industry standard for SEO operational excellence.

The successful candidate will be working in a wider SEO team of 14 SEO practitioners with an SEO Specialist peer group of at least 4 others managing the UK, France Germany, and Rest of EMEA.

What you will be doing:

  • Owning the local keyword research, keyword mapping and maintenance processes
  • Supporting the management of SEO performance dashboard and opportunity analysis
  • Take ownership of performance in the local market. Be aware of performance fluctuations, market trends, local market macro factors and other aspects that could impact commercial changes.
  • Delivering and supporting robust analyses to understand and prioritise commercial opportunities based on demand size, growth trend, potential increase in traffic and revenue and return on investment.
  • Owning the metadata optimisation process, providing optimisation support to content and link building teams
  • Creating a strong relationship with your local market and drive accurate local language insights and SEO optimisation.
  • Working alongside the content localisation team to identify and fix issues related to content duplication and indexability.
  • Provide a consistent delivery of high-quality recommendations to enhance content, target SERP formats, create new content, inform product categorisation (creation, naming conventions).
  • Providing training to Local Content and Local Marketing on SEO performance levers and their contribution to SEO performance.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to align cross-functional stakeholders, manage differing priorities, manage relationships with the external agency and foster collaboration across teams.
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities and challenges, taking full ownership of follow-up actions and driving continuous improvement in SEO performance.
  • Translate complex SEO performance data into actionable insights through clear, audience-appropriate reporting and storytelling.

What do I need to be successful?

If you have the following skills and experience, we want to hear from you:

  • You are a native Italian speaker, with a deep understanding of local search behaviour and cultural context.
  • You have experience in SEO optimisations for improving SERP results.
  • You are comfortable analysing SEO data.
  • You have ability to explain SEO stories to non-technical audiences and influence actions.
  • You have project management skills.
  • You can use some of the SEO tools such as BrightEdge, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Adobe, and PowerBI.
  • Ecommerce experience is essential, preferably in a B2B setting is desirable.
  • Experience in an enterprise size SEO team.
  • Experience working within an enterprise, matrix style organisation.
  • Proven track record working across different search intent and content types.
  • A customer first mindset. The ability to be customer centric and consider audience personas and how they align to the digital experience.
  • You stay up to date on SEO Best Practices and Search Engine Industry.
