Job description

Location: Birmingham
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office
Salary: £35,000-£40,000, dependent on experience

The Role

We're looking for an experienced SEO Manager to join a growing digital marketing agency in Birmingham.

This is a great opportunity for an SEO professional who enjoys getting stuck into the detail of SEO strategy, technical SEO, content SEO and organic growth, while also having the opportunity to influence the wider marketing strategy.

You will work across a small portfolio of client accounts, but a key focus of the role will be growing the agency's own organic visibility. You'll have the opportunity to test SEO ideas, improve website performance and see the impact of your work first-hand.

If you're passionate about SEO, enjoy working with clients and want to develop your experience across both agency and in-house-style SEO, this could be a great next step.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing and delivering SEO strategies to improve organic visibility, traffic and conversions.
  • Taking ownership of the agency's own SEO strategy, identifying opportunities to grow organic search performance.
  • Conducting SEO audits, keyword research and performance analysis.
  • Managing technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, indexing, redirects and other technical improvements.
  • Creating and optimising SEO content, including landing pages, service pages, blogs and case studies.
  • Improving on-page SEO, metadata, website copy and user experience.
  • Using GA4, Google Search Console and SEO tools to identify opportunities and measure performance.
  • Working with clients and internal teams to implement SEO recommendations.
  • Contributing to client reporting and confidently communicating SEO results, recommendations and next steps.
  • Supporting wider marketing activity with a search-first mindset, including content and social media.
  • Exploring how AI search, LLM SEO and evolving search behaviour can create new opportunities.
  • Sharing SEO insights, trends and best practice with the wider team.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within a digital marketing or SEO agency.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page SEO, content SEO and SEO strategy.
  • Experience working with lead generation and/or e-commerce websites.
  • Previous client-facing experience, with the ability to build relationships and communicate SEO recommendations clearly.
  • Experience using Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush or Majestic.
  • A commercially minded approach to SEO, with a focus on traffic, leads, conversions and business growth.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple SEO projects.
  • A genuine interest in how SEO is evolving, including AI search and LLMs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What's On Offer
  • £35,000-£40,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working - 3 days per week in a Birmingham office.
  • 25 days' holiday, increasing annually.
  • Birthdays off.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Annual wellness fund.
  • Company bonus.
  • MacBook Pro and an annual budget for hardware, software or accessories.
  • Regular company socials.
  • Excellent career progression and development opportunities.
