Job description

We’re On the Beach! Since 2003, we've been rewriting the rules of how people discover, book, and experience their perfect getaway. What started as connecting people to short‑haul beach holidays has evolved into something much bigger - premium beach destinations, long‑haul adventures, and vibrant city breaks – and that’s just the beginning of our story.

We send around two million holidaymakers on their dream breaks every year. And we're still growing.

Powered by our deep‑rooted entrepreneurial spirit, proprietary tech, curiosity and our incredible people, we’re accelerating - delivering best in class technology, the ultimate holiday app, and experiences that keep our customers coming back for more.

Ready to build the future of travel with us?

About The Role

Search is changing fast, and On the Beach is at the forefront of adapting to it. We're looking for an SEO & GEO Assistant to join our team as we build out our capability across both traditional organic search and the fast‑growing world of AI‑driven discovery.

This is a hands‑on, learning‑rich position for someone who's genuinely excited about how search works - and focused on where it's heading. You'll support activity across technical SEO, content strategy, rank tracking, and the emerging discipline of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) - helping to ensure OTB is visible wherever customers are searching, whether that's on Google or in AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.

What You’ll Be Doing Day To Day
SEO
  • Supporting weekly and monthly SEO performance reporting, pulling data from Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and internal analytics tools
  • Monitoring keyword rankings across core destination and landing pages, flagging movements and helping to investigate causes
  • Assisting with on‑page SEO audits and implementing recommendations through the CMS and development workflow
  • Conducting competitor analysis - tracking rival sites' content, rankings, and Share of Voice across key search terms
  • Helping build and maintain internal linking structures and content optimisation across the site
GEO / AI Visibility (GEO)
  • Monitoring OTB's visibility and citation rate across AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and others) using our GEO tracking framework
  • Running prompt testing across key holiday and destination queries to identify where OTB appears - or doesn't - in AI‑generated responses
  • Supporting content briefs that align with GEO best practices: structured answers, factual density, E‑E‑A‑T signals
  • Researching competitor AI visibility and surfacing insights for the SEO & Content Manager
  • Keeping up with developments in AI search and contributing ideas for how OTB should respond

You’ll be a great addition to our team if you have the following skills, knowledge and experience

Essential
  • Experience editing a website via CMS platforms
  • A genuine interest in SEO and/or digital marketing - ideally with some experience or exposure to search or a relevant degree
  • An interest in AI search and how LLMs & GAIO are changing the search landscape
  • Comfortable working with data and analytical tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to research and reporting
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar SEO tools
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering or hands‑on experience with LLMs
  • Understanding of technical elements of SEO
  • Experience with Google Search Console or GA4
  • Background in travel, e‑commerce, or content‑heavy websites
