Job summary

Elevate is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a busy Planned and Major Projects team in the UK. You will lead complex surveys, inspect buildings, and provide expert advice to senior leaders to safeguard assets and ensure safety and compliance.

You will diagnose defects, produce specifications and manage contract delivery from inception to completion, while ensuring budgets and schedules are met. Strong CDM 2015 knowledge and stakeholder liaison are essential.

Qualifications

• Senior Building Surveyor with experience leading complex surveys and services on large portfolios.
• Ability to diagnose defects, develop practical cost-saving solutions, and prepare technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking complex building inspections, surveys and technical investigations.
• Diagnosing building defects and recommending practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Producing specifications, schedules of works and tender documentation.
• Managing high-value and technically complex contracts from inception through to completion.
• Monitoring contractor performance against programme, budget and quality targets.
• Acting as technical representative in claims, litigation and other formal proceedings as required.
• Fulfilling CDM 2015 Client and Principal Designer duties.
• Providing technical advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Supporting service improvement and asset management across the portfolio.

Elevate Projects are Working in partnership with our client, a local provider of affordable housing and registered social landlord, to appoint an experieced Surveyor to join theirbusy Planned and Major Projects team.

This is a key role providing professional expertise in the inspection, maintenance, improvement and management of property assets, whilst helping to ensure they remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.

As one of the senior technical specialists, you will lead the delivery of complex surveying projects, oversee significant works programmes, manage high-value contracts, and provide expert advice to colleagues, stakeholders and senior leaders.

The Role

As Senior Building Surveyor, you will act as a subject matter expert in building surveying, applying advanced professional knowledge to support the property portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking complex building inspections, surveys and technical investigations.

• Diagnosing building defects and recommending practical, cost-effective solutions.

• Producing specifications, schedules of works and tender documentation.

• Managing high-value and technically complex contracts from inception through to completion.

• Monitoring contractor performance and delivering against programme, budget and quality objectives.

• Acting as the technical representative in claims, property-related litigation and other formal proceedings where required.

• Fulfilling Client and Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
