Job summary

Unitas Youth Zone is seeking a dedicated youth worker to help create a welcoming space for young people at our Barnet Youth Zone. You will lead high-quality youth work, support colleagues, and help deliver a seven-days-a-week programme that engages diverse young people and fosters confidence and skills.

You will bring substantial youth work experience, the ability to manage a team, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Substantial youth work experience and lead activities in delivery.
• Experience in school/outreach work is desirable.
• Experience of managing budgets and delivering results through a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive activities that help young people participate and progress.
• Act as Session Lead or Duty Manager, ensuring sessions run smoothly and safely.
• Manage, supervise and coach youth workers and volunteers.
• Build trusted relationships with young people, parents, carers and partner agencies.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and support positive behaviour through restorative approaches.
• Record outcomes, gather feedback and use evidence to improve programmes.
• Support outreach in schools and community settings to encourage participation.
