Job summary

Sandwell Council is seeking a Senior Youth Worker to lead a team of youth workers and deliver high quality youth work across centre based settings in Sandwell. You will engage with young people, plan activities, and ensure their voices are heard to help them reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating services, with a commitment to DBS clearance and ongoing professional development. Fixed-term until March 2029.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with young people.
• Willingness to obtain qualifications in youth work as prescribed by management.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of youth workers to plan and deliver services and activities within a centre based setting.
• Deliver high quality youth work and ensure young people’s voices are heard.
• Coordinate across Sandwell Youth Service teams to reach targets.

Job description

The Youth Service aims to provide opportunities to create personal learning and development opportunities for all young people in Sandwell. The service is made up of Centre Based, Detached, Youth Involvement and Inclusions Teams working across the six towns in Sandwell.

We are looking for Senior Youth Workers who can meet the needs and aspirations of young people and deliver high quality Youth Work. You will be fun, engaging, patient, empathic and a good communicator, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and they are supported to reach their full potential.

The successful applicants will lead a team of youth workers to plan and deliver services and activities within a centre based setting.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience of working with young people and willingness to obtain qualifications in youth work as prescribed by management.

This role fixed term until March 2029

The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check
