Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Youth Service is seeking a Senior Youth Worker to lead a team, plan and deliver centre-based services and activities across Sandwell. You will be engaging, patient and a strong communicator to ensure young people’s voices are heard and supported to reach their potential.

The successful candidate will have previous experience with young people and be willing to obtain the appropriate youth work qualifications as prescribed by management.

• Enhanced DBS check is required for the role.

Job description

The Youth Service aims to provide opportunities to create personal learning and development opportunities for all young people in Sandwell. The service is made up of Centre Based, Detached, Youth Involvement and Inclusions Teams working across the six towns in Sandwell.

We are looking for Senior Youth Workers who can meet the needs and aspirations of young people and deliver high quality Youth Work. You will be fun, engaging, patient, empathic and a good communicator, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and they are supported to reach their full potential.

The successful applicants will lead a team of youth workers to plan and deliver services and activities within a centre based setting.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience of working with young people and willingness to obtain qualifications in youth work as prescribed by management.

This role fixed term until March 2029
