Job summary

KHR Recruitment Specialists are partnering with a forward-thinking engineering business to recruit a Senior Workshop Technician focused on mechanical and electrical assembly in a developing workshop. The role involves assembling components from drawings, wiring where required, and supporting testing and manufacturing operations with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and problem solving.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7am-3pm with overtime available, and a pay rate of £18.00-£25.00 per

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Practical experience in mechanical assembly and/or electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings or assembly instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and Commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work hands-on with safety-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and equipment to required specifications.
• Carry out electrical assembly and wiring tasks when within experience.
• Work from engineering drawings, schematics and instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
• Inspect assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Identify and resolve assembly issues.
• Support testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing colleagues.

Workshop Technicians - Mechanical Assembly & Electrical

£18.00 - £25.00 per hour - depending on experience

Due to an exciting period of expansion, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Workshop Technician to the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for hands‑on engineering professionals to play an important role in assembling equipment and supporting manufacturing operations within a developing workshop environment.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly or electromechanical equipment.

The Role

• Assembling mechanical components and equipment to the required specifications.
• Carrying out electrical assembly and wiring tasks where appropriate to your experience.
• Working from engineering drawings, schematics and technical instructions.
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
• Inspecting assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Identifying and resolving practical assembly issues.
• Supporting testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the engineering and manufacturing team.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Practical experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to use workshop tools and equipment confidently.
• Comfortable following technical drawings, diagrams or assembly instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
• Experience with industrial machinery, control panels, electrical wiring, mechanical fitting or equipment testing would be advantageous, depending on your area of expertise.
