Job summary

NEOS Engineering Basildon is seeking an experienced Works Manager to lead a major earthworks project, delivering on time and to a high standard. You will oversee a site-based team, subcontractors, and logistics while maintaining safety and quality across all activities.

The role demands 10+ years in the industry with at least 5 years in supervision, strong leadership, and hands-on site management on infrastructure projects, including GPS guidance use and ITP compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years industry experience with 5+ years in supervisory/management roles.
• Proven record managing multiple foremen and subcontractor gangs.
• Strong bulk earthworks and major infrastructure background.
• Experience using GPS machine guidance systems.
• CSCS Gold Card and CSCS Black Card.
• First Aid / Mental Health First Aid.
• HSG47 Cat & Genny training.
• Temporary Works Supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site-based project team including Foremen and subcontractor gangs.
• Oversee bulk earthworks and site logistics to meet programme.
• Manage labour, plant and resources for productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain site diaries, allocation sheets and project records.
• Review drawings and develop construction methods and statements.
• Coordinate works with Senior Management and Engineering teams.
• Support detailed planning and a 3-week programme lookahead.
• Ensure compliance with Series 600 Specification for Highway Works and ITPs.
