Job summary

Expanded are seeking an experienced Earthworks Construction Manager to lead large-scale earthworks operations across the UK, ensuring safe and successful delivery with industry-leading technology and teams.

You will drive planning and execution, optimise plant fleets, manage interfaces between people and machinery, and mentor site teams to uphold safety, quality, and continuous improvement while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Ten years+ in civil or infrastructure earthworks leadership roles.
• Proven track record delivering major earthworks projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of GPS machine control and digital construction platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of earthworks activities with HSE/QK compliance.
• Manage interface between people, plant and equipment to ensure safe, efficient site operations.
• Provide leadership to site teams and promote safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Utilise GPS machine control, telematics and digital platforms to maximise efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop cost-effective, practical solutions to technical and operational challenges.
• Lead bulk earthworks activities including cut/fill, balancing, haul route optimisation and productivity management.
• Select and optimise earthmoving fleets to maximise production and minimise costs.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to meet programme requirements.
• Monitor commercial performance through planning, productivity analysis and value engineering.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, engineers, and suppliers.
