Senior Workday Build & Extend Engineer

Job summary

RSM UK is seeking a senior Workday Build, Extend, Prism Engineer to own design and governance of enterprise-grade Workday solutions. You will work with product development, functional experts, and architecture teams to deliver client-centric, scalable, and secure platforms on time.

You will mentor the internal Workday team and contribute to expanding platform capabilities while balancing security and change management requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on Workday development (or 4+ years Workday ecosystem)
• 5+ years of software development experience including Web apps
• Strong grasp of Workday data model, security, business processes, custom objects/orgs, calculated fields, and reports/RaaS
• Proficiency with REST APIs and Workday Integration patterns (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors)
• Solid understanding of SDLC, peer reviews, and test strategies
• Experience training or mentoring developers/analysts; ability to produce clear enablement assets
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• End to end design and delivery of Workday solutions across Build, Extend, Prism, and associated Orchestrations
• Translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable client-centric solutions and articulate trade-offs and risks
• Embed RSMs SDLC governance framework and establish consistent data models, UI, workflows, AI development, and integration methodologies
• Ensure all solutions adhere to the enterprise change management and release framework
• Apply security architecture with product and solution design; ensuring security-first principles with auditing and gateway protections
• Operate effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven delivery model
• Drive speed to value whilst maintaining quality and control discipline
• Lead complex initiatives including multi-source orchestration and advanced platform capabilities
