Job summary

MARS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Modem Stack Engineer for Oxford-based hybrid work. You will develop real-time C/C++ communications software for wireless systems, collaborating with modem, embedded, platform-integration and verification teams to define boundaries between PHY, platform, and networks.

The role is hands-on with Linux/embedded Linux, multithreading, and performance-sensitive code. Offer: £90,000–£97,500 per year plus a share scheme and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong C/C++ experience in real-time or embedded systems.
• Experience in wireless MAC/modem protocols and control software.
• Familiar with IPv4/IPv6 networking and transport interfaces.
• Proficient in Linux/embedded Linux with multithreading and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement modem stack interfaces between PHY and higher layers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional modem/embedded/platform teams in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, and disciplined software releases.
