The role

As a Senior Welding Engineer, you'll be part of a manufacturing facility specializing in high-complexity, low-volume production. With anticipated growth, we're seeking a skilled engineer to manage our production and supply chain welding activities to meet current and future demands.

You'll work with a diverse team of production, project, engineering, and other staff to deliver cutting-edge defence projects for UK and international clients. Your responsibilities include acting as the business point of contact for NDT, collaborating with contracted SMEs, and sharing knowledge with manufacturing and design engineers.

• Lead the review, assessment, and development of new welding processes and technologies.
• Ensure timely delivery of welding development projects within budget.
• Coordinate and deliver welding engineering tasks and activities.
• Develop the capabilities and competencies of the welding engineering team.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based on-site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Essential experience

• Practical knowledge of MIG/MAG FCAW, SAW, and TIG welding processes.
• Understanding of weldability of C-Mn, Q&T, stainless steels, and Ni alloys.
• Knowledge of NDT processes and applications (VT, MT, UT, RT).

Qualifications

• Hold IWT/EWT status or demonstrate equivalent governance experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
