Job summary

Cranleigh STEM is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join its engineering and manufacturing team. You will weld, fabricate and assemble mechanical components and structures, supporting the build of complex engineered systems for hydrogen production and power generation.

The role suits a practical individual who enjoys varied, precision-focused work and takes pride in producing high-quality components.

Qualifications

• Proven TIG welding of stainless steel pipework
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specs
• Experience welding pipework to high-quality standards
• Strong understanding of weld quality and safe working practices

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding and fabrication activities to engineering drawings and specifications
• Prepare, cut, fit and assemble metal components and structures
• Produce high-quality welded assemblies for prototype and production equipment
• Support fabrication and modification of mechanical components and frames
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve manufacturing challenges
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and quality
• Maintain welding equipment and a safe, well-organised workshop
• Support continuous improvement across fabrication processes
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures
